Gamble Brothers Series by J.Lynn

3 hot brothers, 3 love stories, many different ways of making love.

Blurbs;

Tempting the Best Man

A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

She'll make him lose control...

Madison Daniels has worshipped her brother's best friend since they were kids. Everyone thinks she and Chase Gamble would make the perfect couple, but there are two major flaws in their logic. 1) Chase has sworn off relationships of any kind, and 2) after blurring the line between friends and lovers for one night four years ago, they can't stop bickering.

Forced together for her brother's wedding getaway, Chase and Madison decide to call a truce for the happy couple. Except all bets are off when they're forced to shack up in a tacky 70’s honeymoon suite and survive a multitude of "accidents" as the family tries to prove their "spark" can be used than for more than fighting. That is, if they don't strangle each other first....

Tempting the Player

A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

He's a player on and off the field...

Chad Gamble, all-star pitcher for the Nationals, is one of the best players on—and off—the field. And right now, the notorious bad boy wants Bridget Rodgers. But with her lush curves and snappy comebacks, the feisty redhead is the kind of woman a man wants to settle down with…and that’s the last thing Chad needs.

When the paparazzi catch them in a compromising position, Chad’s manager issues an ultimatum: clean up his act or kiss his multi-million dollar contract goodbye. To save his career, his meddling publicist says he'll have to convince everyone Bridget isn’t just his flavor of the week, but his girlfriend.

Being blackmailed into a fake relationship with Chad Gamble isn’t easy, especially when the sizzling physical attraction between them is undeniable. With a month to go on their arranged pretense, it's going to take every ounce of willpower they have not to fall into bed together...or in love.

Tempting the Bodygaurd

A sexy category romance from Entangled’s Brazen imprint...

He can protect her from everyone except himself.

Alana Gore is in danger. A take-no-prisoners publicist, her way with people has made her more than a few enemies over the years, but a creepy stalker is an entirely different matter. She needs a bodyguard, and the only man she can ask is not only ridiculously hot, but reputed to have taste for women that goes beyond adventurous.

Chandler Gamble has one rule: don't protect anyone you want to screw. But with Alana, he's caught between his job and his increasingly hard libido. On one hand, Alana needs his help. On the other, Chandler wants nothing more than to take the hot volcano of a woman in hand. To make her writhe in pleasure, until she's at his complete mercy.

She needs protection. He needs satisfaction. And the moment the line is crossed, all hell will break loose...

These books are literally nothing less than beautiful from the smut to the boys it doesn't get better than this.

If you like kind, making love sex-stories the first two books are definitely for you but if you like to read about kinky sex then the last and final book in this series is the one to go for.

Chase, Chad and Chandler are beautiful, and their stories all have something different.

The girls in these books are independent, different in looks (both size and facial appearance) and amazing character to read about.

So if you have been one of the few which haven't picked up these heated books go get your grabby fingers all over these fine pieces of meat or if you're a vegetarian, these fine pieces of carrots!

Katie McGarry: Interview

Ahhhhh! Looooooooooook!

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to interview the wonderful Young Adult author Katie McGarry. Who I’ve been a fan of ever since my friend and co-owner of Drool Worthy Books blog, introduced me to her.

Katie has just recently published ‘Take Me On’, her fourth installment to the ‘Pushing the Limits’ Series and so I got around to asking her some questions about the book, to which you can find my review on our blog.

Why did you decide to pair West with a girl fighter?

When I first met West as a secondary character in CRASH INTO YOU, I knew that he had a short temper and got into fights easily.

In TAKE ME ON, I wanted West to fall in love with a girl who could mentally challenge him. By being an actual fighter, Haley was in a position to tell West that his temper hurts him, not helps him, and that sometimes walking away is fighting.

You did a lot of research for ‘Crash Into You’ and ‘Take Me On’ which lead you to learn and do interesting things. Was it stuff that you thought you'd ever get the chance to experience?

For CRASH INTO YOU, I spent a lot of time at a local dragway and I even got the opportunity to go down the dragway. It was an exhilarating experience!

For TAKE ME ON, I found a local Muay Thai gym and they were fabulous enough to let me watch some of their training sessions. I eventually became bold enough to join their morning kickboxing for fitness class. It’s a bag class, but I learned how tough and fun kickboxing is.

I don’t believe I would have ever experienced either of these things if it wasn’t for the research I needed for the books.

With ‘Breaking the Rules’ coming out in Decemeber, I didn’t forget to ask some important questions there.

Did you always plan on continuing Echo and Noah’s story?

I have always known what happened to Echo and Noah after I finished writing PUSHING THE LIMITS. I wrote PUSHING THE LIMITS as a stand-alone so I didn’t think I would get an opportunity to continue their story. When I was asked if I would consider continuing their story, I jumped at the opportunity. BREAKING THE RULES will be released on December 30, 2013.

What has been the most emotional book for you to write so far in the Pushing the Limits Series?

It’s a tie between DARE YOU TO and TAKE ME ON. In DARE YOU TO, I understood a lot of Beth’s hurts and there are a lot of themes in TAKE ME ON that are personal to me. Both stories required me to dig deep into places that are difficult for me to visit.

But don’t worry guys I asked Katie the one question that’s been on all our minds ever since we met the girl in Crash Into you.

Will we ever get the chance to read Abby’s story?

I’m not sure yet what the future is for the PUSHING THE LIMITS series. I’m crossing fingers and toes I’ll be able to write Abby’s story.

Oh and so are we Katie, so are we! A big thank you to Katie for taking her time to answer our questions. It meant the world.

Take Me On by Katie McGarry

The fourth installment to the Pushing the Limits series that literally just keeps getting better and better.

"We were nothing more than actions to reactions - helpless against our own fate."

This is West and Hayley's story. West is Rachel's, from Crash Into you, older brother and Hayley is the girl that's about to teach him how to fight with his head not just his heart.

In the words of Katie McGarry West is a hot-mess and I totally love it. He has been giving everything growing up except the one thing he needed most, belonging. Hayley at the start of this book is hard to understand, you know in the past she would of said exactly what was on her mind but everything has changed since the night she was she broke.

“I'm in love with you. I'm in love with you and I don't know how to make you feel better. I'm in love with you and I shouldn't be. I'm in love with you and once you figure out who I am, you're not going to love me. I'm in love with you and I seem to fuck up the ones who love me back.”

Katie tackles many serious dilemmas in the world at the moment in this book and she really gets across the emotions in which West and Hayley experience.

West goes from having it all to living in his car, which is still better than some but it is what it is. He's homeless and he must learn to survive without having everything handed to him on a plate. I've never seen a character grow up so much in just one book. He changed from a boy to man and it was one of the best things that could of ever happened to him.

As for Hayley she learns the true meaning to the saying 'a problem shared, is a problem halved.' The girl has so much weight on her shoulders and all she does is keep putting more and more on top of them. She used to fight, she used to love to fight. It was what could take her away from everything, but Hayley lost that the day she stopped fighting the demons inside and let them take over. So much changes for Hayley, she comes back to reality and it's one of the sweetest moments when you realize she's about to start fighting for herself again and not just the people she cares about.

Somewhere along the line West and Hayley stopped fighting for what they wanted, what mattered. They lost there way and with each others help they will set each other back on the right path.

West will prove to Hayley she is worth fighting for, and Hayley will prove to West he isn't just some failure.

“You say you don’t know who you are,” adds Rachel. “But the question should be—who do you want to be?”

There is always a heart shattering moment in Katie's stories and even though all I ever want to do is keep reading I always have to stop and tell myself, "This will work out, it has too." That moment in this book was when West's father presented him with the chance to give Hayley a future except West would have to do what he wasn't sure he could. That scene broke my heart into a million pieces and god I realized that I never truly knew how much I hated the Young's parents in Crash Into you but I surely learnt how much in Take Me on.

But while hating on two family members I fell in love with two others, Hayley's brother Kaden and cousin Jax and god if I don't get a book about either of them I may have to come to your house Katie and force you to write me one. I think someone has stolen my heart, just like Isaiah did all those books ago and that award goes to Jax.

Even though West stood up for Hayley from the very beginning, I love that Kaden and Jax always fought for her. Yes they made mistakes, they let her evil uncle call her all sorts, they let him look down on her and treat her like shit but they did that for the right reasons. They love Hayley and Hayley loves them much more than they'll ever know, she loves them so much she gave up them up - just so they'd never have to get hurt.

Abby had a massive role in Take Me On and I swear Katie I need that girls story. She's broken, she's a liar but all for the right reasons and she's everything I look for in a character. She deserves her own book, a book about her. Her story, her world, her mistakes, her life. She is so much more than just the drug dealer, she's a girl that just needs to be loved and a way out of the world she has made for herself.

“I love her, West. She loves me. When you feel like that about someone, you find ways to make it work.”

Katie always seems to get my heart racing and the adrenaline pumping, by her story-lines. When Hayley was sparring with Kayden for the first time in months and West was watching I literally could feel the fear she felt running through my veins. I could feel how West wanted nothing more than to step in and protect her but I also knew deep down she needed to do this and somewhere, somehow he understood that.

This book gets 5 out of 5 stars from me without fail. As usual I cannot fault Katie's writing or storytelling. I loved West and Hayley from beginning to end and god I would recommend this book, this series, this writer to anyone! I'd recommend you all go check out this addictive series.

World After

“It’s amazing how many times we need to go against our survival instincts to survive.”

World After by Susan Ee is the second installment to the amazing and un-put-down-able Penryn and the End of Days series.

I read the first book Angelfall when it was only available on the internet and I cannot describe how happy I was when it was put into print. In the first book we were introduced to Penryn Young, a seventeen year old girl tasked with looking after her disabled sister and her mentally disabled mother in a world that has changed drastically in the last few months.

Along with natural disasters humanity are now not the only species on the top of the food chain. Angels have arrived and they're not the fluffy winged cherub kind. No, these angels are warriors and in the midst of bringing humanity to its knees.

Before I move onto the World After review I just want to say that Angelfall was absolutely amazing. It completely sucked me in and had me reading into the early hours of the morning. So if you get the chance please, please, please give this book a go!
So any way back to the review!

World After takes place immediately after the events of Angelfall with Raffe gone, searching for his wings and Penryn along with her mother and sister being brought back to the Resistance camp. The story mainly follows Penryn as she tries to piece together her family and her world. But when Paige (Penryn's sister) goes off on her own Penryn sets out to track her down. But along the way Penryn comes face to face with the angels' plans and learns just how far they are willing to go to make them happen.

Once again Susan Ee has brought us into a world with amazing believable characters and a suspenseful intriguing plot. Penryn is still one of my favorite heroines with her determined and witty nature along with her devotion to the people she loves. And then there's Raffe.

“It is painful to see that people prefer a bad guy who looks like an angel to a good guy who looks like a demon.”

Oh Raffe, the beautiful angel with his Adonis body and unfortunate demon wings. I just can't get enough of him! He really made the story for me and once you read it you'll understand why! But honestly the relationship he has with Penryn is just perfection it couldn't have been written better. Their banter and snarky comments add an element of humor to the story that compliments it greatly.

“This sword is not just an angel sword. She’s an archangel sword. Better than an angel sword, in case that’s not clear. She intimidates the other angel swords.”

“What, the other swords quake in their scabbards when they see her?”

This was a great story to read but I kind of found it hard to get into it at first but to be honest I think it had more to do with me suffering from Raffe withdrawal because he isn't in the book until about three quarters of the way through. But it was so worth the wait!

Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This series is yet another example of Jenniefer L. Armentrout’s beautiful and creative writing and storytelling skills.

Lux Series:

The Lux series so far has made me laugh out loud, cry myself to sleep, want to punch someone in the face and drool over hot beautiful Aliens!

"So the dickhead had a name. Daemon—seemed fitting. And of course his sister would be as attractive as him. Why not? Welcome to West Virginia, the land of lost models."
Obsidian is the first book of this utterly captivating series. The book is written in Katy's point of view. The girl from out of town who has just moved in next door to the Black family which consists of Dee and Daemon - who are not your average everyday beautiful mortals. They are much more, they're aliens from a planet called Lux, and they are known as Luxen. They have lived on planet earth since they were children but their kind have been coming here for decades as their enemies the Arum destroyed their home. And are still out to get them, how will it all work out when it's not just Dee, Daemon has to worry about but Katy too?

"Air punched out of my lungs. I held her tight, and I knew right then I would burn down the whole universe for her if I had to. I would do anything to keep her safe. Kill. Heal. Die. Anything. Because she was my everything."

Onyx is the second book in this series. Daemon must prove to Katy that what he feels for her is real., but they've both bigger problems right now. The Department of Defence has shown up bringing with them a new boy to the small town. He knows what has happened to Katy and tells her he can help her with learning control, but Daemon doesn't trust the boy. That's not all though Katy has seen someone that shouldn't be alive. How will Katy survive the drastic changes in her life, and will she ever be normal again?

"I love you, Katy. Always have. Always will."
Opal, the third heart breaking book in Lux. They've no way out, danger is closing in all around them. How will they survive when they have to trust the boy who's proven he can't be trusted? Katy's world is falling apart, but it's about to get even worse. She can't be without him, and he can't be without her. So how are they going to keep fighting when they're not together?

"So I was thinking, there're eighty-six thousand, four hundred seconds in a day, right? There're one thousand, four hundred and forty minutes in a day...There're one hundred and sixty-eight hours in a week. Around eighty-seven hundred and then some hours in a year, and you know what?...I want to spend every second, every minute, every hour with you...I want a year's worth of seconds and minutes with you. I want a decade's worth of hours, so many that I can't add them up."

Origin. The fourth book in this emotional roller-coaster. We get to know Daemon inside and out in this one, as each second chapter is in his point of view. The first thing we learn is Daemon wasn't kidding when he said he'd burn down the world to save her. People they trusted can no longer be trusted, enemies surround them in every corner. With help coming from the most unlikely allies. And cliffhangers are what Jennifer L. Armentrout loves to leave us with.

As I wait patiently till August for the last book of this series ‘Opposition.’ I have begun 'The covenant series' and so far am very pleased with the writing and story.

Jennifer L. Armentrout gets five stars for this series. It was a series full of surprises. It was exciting, heart-breaking, romantic and drool worthy. I usually don’t read books about aliens, but Jenn has converted me. If every alien book out there is like this one, I’ll definitely be picking them up from now on. With her articulate writing and fascinating stories, Armentrout never seems to fail me.
