Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry

WELCOME ALL to Katie McGarry's new book series, and one hell of a series it is going to be.

Let me introduce you to the two main characters of this book: Oz and Emily.

They both come from completely different worlds. Their definitions of 'normal' are polar opposites. And they're both as loveable as each other.

Oz has been a prospect of the 'Reign of Terror,' a motorcycling boy-club ever since the day he was born. He hasn't had it easy but has always loved the community he was brought into. A world completely different than the one Emily understands, the one me and you understand. It is a world that to some seems dangerous and terrifying.. but to the members it's a club about family and loyalty. A place that loves their members no matter what and stands by each other to the end.

Emily was raised in a world full of secrets, but she did not know this until the day an email arrived from her biological father, Eli telling her that her biological Grandmother had passed away.. this one act was to change her entire life and throw her into the beautiful and chaotic world of the 'Reign of Terror.' What she learns along her journey of finding freedom is what will change her whole lifestyle and also helps not only the reader to see the world we are all sharing in a different perspective, but also Emily to understand the world she could have easily grown up in.

“This is your family … If you learn to love us then you will forever have our love in return.”

One of my favourite secondary characters in this book is Olivia, her sense of not-giving-a-shit, is the most refreshing thing to grace my world of reads in quite a long time and the life lessons Emily is to learn from her are not just ones of extraordinary fiction, they're ones that we can all learn from.

Emily and Oz's relationship was fun to watch grow throughout the book. Their attitude at the beginning made me laugh out loud and Oz's words of complete honesty made me cry multiple times throughout this book, but I did not expect anything less from this magnificent author who uses words to tell show us all a different side of this beautifully messed up world.

“Like you know anything about living. You never take a risk!”
“I’m here, aren’t I?”
“But not fully engaged. When the hell are you going to step outside of yourself and experience what’s going on around you? You have a huge family I would kill to be blood-related to and you can’t appreciate it to save your life!”

Believe it or not this innocent looking book made me cry for the first nine chapters, non-stop and the only explanation I can seem to come up with.... it was Katie McGarry's way of putting words together and making me feel all the emotions both Oz and Emily (the main characters) were feeling underneath the surface.

Fans of Simone Elkeles' books: Perfect Chemistry, Rules of Attraction & Chain Reaction.. will most definitely enjoy reading this masterpiece of words and even if you're not a fan of those books, I'm sure you'll fall head over heels for this mesmerizing series.

This book is a million percent a 5 star read and I sure as hell will be getting all my friends (& maybe family) to read it.. because damn if they don't they're missing out on something straight out of the Heavens.

Fall With Me by J.Lynn

Book four in the Wait For You series, a series full of heated romance and shocking storylines!

We met Roxy and Reece in Calla and Jax's lovestory! We knew from the moment we laid eyes (more read about them but shh) on them we needed their books and Jennifer didn't let us down, thank the Gods.

Roxy is the cute painter, with the geeky glasses and has been in love with Reece for like ever.. Reece is the drool worthy meal on the menu that costs too much, but looks like it's worth it.. and well he's all a uniform guy with some very toned abs that can speak words of seduction quite well! So yeah I think y'all get the picture!

“Unfortunately, I also hated him, absolute loathed him. Ah, well, most of the time. Sometimes. Pretty much whenever I gazed upon his perfection and started lusting after him. Yeah, that's when I hated him.”

J.Lynn tells an utterly amazing romance story but she also dives into the land of seriousness with Roxy's story. She speaks of forgiveness and teaches us that first you must forgive yourself before you can forgive others for their mistakes. While also making a statement on her stance on the whole 'LGBT' stuff, which I like seeing in such a massively known author. She wasn't afraid to share her thoughts in a non-in-your-face way.

The story she tells is not just a breathtaking romance that makes our hearts race but she also captures the readers suspicious minds with the story of 'Who is the stalker?' playing a major role in this piece of work. Some parts creeped me out and I may now never move out of the lovely warm home that I live with my parents but I must congratulate her for her excellent storytelling techniques throughout. Armentrout shows off her ability at writing 'Who dunnits?' and makes me wonder, "Will she be the next Agatha Christie or Gillian Flynn?" (I looked up 'Who dunnit?' authors on Google in order to write that sentence, don't cringe!)

“Nick stopped at the door. The grin on his face warned trouble. “By the way, loved the bows on your panties.”
Oh, for fuck’s sake.
Reece’s jaw became so hard I thought it would snap off as he watched Nick saunter out the door.”

I absoloutely adored this book. After all the excitement Jennifer didn't let me down, but what else can we expect from this amazing author? Fall with me gets 500 out of 5 for everything that makes it a J.Lynn quality book. So let us all celebrate this beaut and read it over and over. While also fangirling over the few short scenes filled with Jax and Calla!

P.s. The best news ever... We're going to get a book with Naughty Nick (Don't thrash the title people!). But yes beautiful Nick shall have a beautiful book and we shall all be beautifully happy and dancing around gardens singing tunes of love and laughter. (Promise it will happen!)

Come back To Me by Mila Gray

A book about love and how it can never truly die.

So I have been meaning to read a book by Mila Gray a.k.a. Sarah Alderson for quite some time now. Meabh (the other blogger) has read quite a few, yet she never told me how good of a writer this woman is. For someone like myself who dislikes marines or anything to do with war much this was quite a different change for me.

But I met a swoon-worthy boy and an adorable girl. While also experiencing some awesome writing!

“You've been waiting in the bushes for half an hour just to speak to me?"
Kit shrugs. "I've done sniper training. I can sit for hours in the dark, waiting and watching."
"That's comforting." I say. "And not creepy in the slightest.”

Kit is super cute and for a supposed 'player' he knows quite well how to be a complete cutey at times. As for Jessa she's totes adorable, ew I hate saying that. But no she's a very cute and strong character in my opinion.

We meet Riley, Kit's best friend and Jessa's ahm.. brother. He's my favourite character in this book even though I went through a period of annoyance, there is just something about Riley and his girlfriend Jo that I want to read a book about the pair.

“I’ve never felt this way before, Jessa,’ he says. ‘I don’t want to fuck it up.”

Okay let's get to the main point, this book was the typical love story but it was a damn good one at that and I'm sorry but who the hell doesn't like a good typical romance? I surely love them.

I liked the start of this book and the suspense it gave to the whole story, making the reader worried from beginning to end then breaking there hearts while also mending it.

My main issue with this storyline was how the dramatic parts took quite a long time to get to. This slightly annoyed me but Alderson's writing made up for it all. She was flawless in many ways, not too much description but not too little either, perfect amount. Her characters were all sorts of charming and she didn't make us completely hate the parents like most teen books do.

So with that, I give this book really 3.5 if not 4 because of Gray's writing. I also love hot boys and that gives this book some extra brownie points. This was a good book to read if you just want to relax and not be too stressed. I may have also shed a few tears..

The Return by Jennifer L Armentrout

“Holy Hottie-McHotters!”

Oh My God! I loved, loved, loved this book so, so, so much! Jennifer L Armentrout has done it again!

The Return is set one year after the events of 'Sentinel' and is centered around Seth. Seth, my beautiful, complicated Seth, he really has had a tough year. His life now belongs to the Gods to do with as they please. Tracking, torturing, killing, you name it Seth has to do it. But protecting someone? Ya, not something he thought he would have to do.

Enter Josie. Just another ordinary college student- or so she thinks- but when a mysterious hot guy comes knocking she's not so sure anymore. And then things start to get weird.

“What are you?” she asked, her nose scrunching as she spoke. “Other than a heart-stopping hot guy with obvious boundary issues and problems with anger management?”

What I loved about this book was how we got to see things through Seth's point of view. It really gave me a better understanding of his character and of how he had felt throughout the previous books. His vulnerability in parts of the book was very touching and eye-opening.

Tears built in my throat. "You're not just the Apollyon, Seth."
His eyes drifted shut, his face tensed as his fingers splayed across my cheeks. "I don't even know who I am anymore. Or what I ever was."
Oh goodness, that ripped right through my chest. "You're just...you're just Seth."
A tremor moved through his arms. "And you...you're just my salvation.”

I don't want to give too much on the plot away but I will say that it was intense, intriguing and down right awesome! We also get to catch up with previous characters from the Covenant Series! That was a lovely surprise! There also wasn't a lack of humor in this story! I'd find myself in fits of laughter as quickly as I would find tears in my eyes.

“I ran over a squirrel once."
Blinking open my eyes, I drew back as far as she'd let me.
"What?"
"I ran over a squirrel the second time I ever drove a car," she repeated. "I also hit a deer. And when I was seventeen, I clipped a cat. Before I left for college, I backed into a dog."
"Gods," I muttered.”

All in all this book did not disappoint and i'm impatiently waiting until the next book in the series! I seriously recommend this book if you're a fan of the all things Seth or the Covenant Series or anything Jennifer Armentrout related!

The Return, Book Release!

Guess what beautiful and wonderful book is here?!

You got it! Seth's story is here, The Return!

It may be the first day of lent, but I can tell you all I am not going off drool-worthy boys this lent.. especially with beautiful Seth here and ready for me to read about..

Best news about this book is the fact it is a New Adult Paranormal Romance.. so I shall hope that means some very heated scenes!

So here is the Synopsis for all you who haven't read it a million times already, and for you who have.. why don't you read it once more..

The Fates are cackling their bony asses off...

It's been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs they've given him have been violent and bloody--which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth. He's got to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most challenging yet.

Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy's deal might be, but it's a good bet that his arrival means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of ancient myth is gunning for her.

But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all.

Because history has once again been flipped to repeat.

So I've a little gift for y'all.. it's just a tinee-tiny excerpt.. so go fangirl..

Shaking my head, I pivoted around and walked down the long hall to my dorm room. As I reached the door, the shiver was at the base of my spine again, dancing its way up until it traveled across my shoulders. My heart turned over heavily and I closed my eyes.

Twice in one day.
Oh God.
I’d never felt this more than once in any span of several days.

Swallowing hard, I wrapped my fingers around the doorknob, battling the urge to turn and scan the hall, because I knew no one would be there.

Dragging in a deep breath, I opened the door and stepped inside the room. My brows flew up, and I forgot about the feeling as I closed the door behind me.

Erin was sprawled on the floor, palms pressed down on a mat, her spandex-covered behind jutting up toward the sky. She turned her head, peering at me from under her armpit.

Her armpit.

“How in the world do you get your neck to bend like that without killing yourself?” I asked.

“Skills, yo.”

Erin did yoga and meditation religiously, saying it helped merge her yin and yang together or something. She’d once told me she had a hell of a mean streak, and contorting herself into painful-looking positions helped keep “good vibrations” around her. Which was strange, because I’d never seen Erin lose her temper in the two years I’d known her.

Erin unfolded herself from some kind of downward dog or upward pony and grinned at me. “Check under the bed.”

Curious, I dropped my bag and stepped over her legs. Bending down, I lifted the bedspread and my eyes grew to the size of saucers when I spotted the bottle. I snatched it up and clutched it to my chest as I whipped toward her. “José!”

Her grin spread into a smile. “The best boyfriend ever.”

So y'all excited?! Because damn I know I am! Maybe I should give y'all the links to buy this beauty.. just in-case you haven't already:

Breaking the Rules by Katie McGarry

Echo and Noah. Noah and Echo.

Finally I got my chubby little hands on this beautiful book.

And I was warned before hand that I would shed some tears, but little did I know they'd be big fat ones.

“She looked hurt. Hurt means she cares. It’s indifference that should scare you. The same look foster parents give you when you come and go.”

In 'Pushing the Limits' we met the broken Noah and Echo. We watched as they fell in love with one another, we saw them face their problems and find a way to still trust eachother, to smile and laugh again. To finally find someone who understood just wanting to 'fit in.'

But in Breaking the Rules we see the truth behind that pain, that it never just ends because they fell in love with one another. Life isn't like the fairytales and McGarry truly gets that message across with her mesmerising writing and magnificent story-telling skills.

She tackles some major issues in this book from learning to stand on your own two feet in the real world while also facing your problems head on.

Noah must figure out some truths about his need to be accepted, while Echo must learn to make her own decisions.

“Sometimes we don’t choose the memories, but they choose us.”

Now I need to have a little rant about how annoyed I was at both Echo and Noah for basically half of this book.

I found Echo became a little selfish and there was a few times she became embarrassed over Noah.. yet Noah has never been embarrassed over her. I almost felt like I needed to climb into those pages and have a little talk with Echo. Explain what was so clearly right in front of her.

Noah doubted again and again Echo's love for him, her want to be with him and how proud she was in him. He truly believed one day she'd wake up and realise what a 'low-life' he was. This made me angry and upset, how could Noah ever think this? (Like come on he's drool-worthy!)

I nod, telling her I get it."I fucked up."
"You did." Beth won't look at me."I'll take care of her."

We get quite a few wonderful scenes with Isaiah and Beth!

Oh Katie, how I hate to say it but I still remember why I shipped them so hard, why it hurt when Beth fell in love with Ryan and left him behind, why it still hurts that they were never meant to be together.. But I must remind myself; destructive love is worse than no love.. right?!

This book gets 5 stars out of 5. Katie McGarry didn't fail to draw me in. She let us in on the harsh realities that is life and she made me cry. Every good book makes me cry, makes my heart break then glues it all together for a special closing.

So Thank-you Katie, Thank-you for telling Noah and Echo's story. It needed to be told.

GO GRAB A COPY OF THIS BOOK AND READ UNTIL THE SUN COMES UP!

“The worst type of letting go isn't the kicking or the screaming, because at least then there's enough emotion left to fight. No,the worst type is the silent acceptance. The quietness of the release. That's when the person realizes they no longer give a damn.”

Forced together for her brother's wedding getaway, Chase and Madison decide to call a truce for the happy couple. Except all bets are off when they're forced to shack up in a tacky 70’s honeymoon suite and survive a multitude of "accidents" as the family tries to prove their "spark" can be used than for more than fighting. That is, if they don't strangle each other first....

Chad Gamble, all-star pitcher for the Nationals, is one of the best players on—and off—the field. And right now, the notorious bad boy wants Bridget Rodgers. But with her lush curves and snappy comebacks, the feisty redhead is the kind of woman a man wants to settle down with…and that’s the last thing Chad needs.

When the paparazzi catch them in a compromising position, Chad’s manager issues an ultimatum: clean up his act or kiss his multi-million dollar contract goodbye. To save his career, his meddling publicist says he'll have to convince everyone Bridget isn’t just his flavor of the week, but his girlfriend.

Being blackmailed into a fake relationship with Chad Gamble isn’t easy, especially when the sizzling physical attraction between them is undeniable. With a month to go on their arranged pretense, it's going to take every ounce of willpower they have not to fall into bed together...or in love.

Tempting the Bodygaurd

A sexy category romance from Entangled’s Brazen imprint...

He can protect her from everyone except himself.

Alana Gore is in danger. A take-no-prisoners publicist, her way with people has made her more than a few enemies over the years, but a creepy stalker is an entirely different matter. She needs a bodyguard, and the only man she can ask is not only ridiculously hot, but reputed to have taste for women that goes beyond adventurous.

Chandler Gamble has one rule: don't protect anyone you want to screw. But with Alana, he's caught between his job and his increasingly hard libido. On one hand, Alana needs his help. On the other, Chandler wants nothing more than to take the hot volcano of a woman in hand. To make her writhe in pleasure, until she's at his complete mercy.

She needs protection. He needs satisfaction. And the moment the line is crossed, all hell will break loose...

These books are literally nothing less than beautiful from the smut to the boys it doesn't get better than this.

If you like kind, making love sex-stories the first two books are definitely for you but if you like to read about kinky sex then the last and final book in this series is the one to go for.

Chase, Chad and Chandler are beautiful, and their stories all have something different.

The girls in these books are independent, different in looks (both size and facial appearance) and amazing character to read about.

So if you have been one of the few which haven't picked up these heated books go get your grabby fingers all over these fine pieces of meat or if you're a vegetarian, these fine pieces of carrots!

Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Another AMAZING book by Jennifer L Armentrout. Seriously, we've had demons, gods, aliens, gargoyles and now we have FAE! I found this little treasure under my Christmas tree on Christmas morning and couldn't wait to crack it open. As usual, I was completely sucked in for the first chapter and couldn't put it down!

So, in this book the story is set in New Orleans and we are introduced to Ivy Morgan, a bad-ass yet somewhat vulnerable heroine. She belongs to a secret organisation called 'The Order' that protect humanity from the fae. She mostly spends her days in college and killing fae.

I really liked Ivy's character. She was strong even after going through some horrible stuff. She was also funny and her relationship with Tink was brilliant . I love that little brownie!

“Grabbing a scarf off the chair, I threw it at him.
He caught it, clutching it to his chest as he flew into the air. "You gave Tink a scarf. Tink is free!" He flew out into the hallway like a little cracked-out fairy, screeching, "Tink is freeeeee!"

And then we meet Ren Owens. Oh Ren, where do I start? He was a great character and really balanced out Ivy's more reckless approach to situations. He was an intense force to be reckoned with. It also doesn't hurt that he is one big piece of man candy!

“I didn't need your permission," I spat back. Ren smirked. "Honey, I know what you need and you're going to get it.”

I really liked the plot. It was interesting and things flowed well through out. There was mystery and suspense and it kept you guessing. The banter between characters was definitely a highlight for me. It added a more light-hearted tone in an otherwise serious situation. Especially, Ivy's inner dialogue!

“Why couldn't he say I reminded him of Ariel or something? Then again, Ariel was kind of stupid, giving up her voice for a dude.”

All in all Jennifer has written another masterpiece that has me not so patiently waiting for the sequel! I can't wait until Torn comes out!
